Delivery from China
Delivery of goods from China to Ukraine is currently organized through combined routes. Since direct air and sea connections with Ukraine are currently limited, cargoes first arrive at large logistics hubs in Europe (for example, ports in Poland, Germany or airports in Warsaw, Frankfurt), and from there they are sent to Ukraine by road.
Depending on your volumes — whether it is single orders for yourself or commercial batches for business — logistics options vary significantly.
1. Main delivery methods and terms
The cost and speed of the route depend on the type of transport used to transport the cargo:
-
Air delivery (Express)
- Terms: from 9 to 20 business days.
- Who is suitable for: For valuable, light cargo, electronics, trendy clothing or urgent product samples.
- Price: The highest, usually calculated per kilogram of cargo (current rates range from $7.5–$15 per kg depending on the category of goods and volumetric weight).
- Terms: from 9 to 20 business days.
- Sea shipping (Container)
-
- Terms: on average from 50 to 75 days.
- Who is suitable for: The best choice for large batches, heavy and bulky goods (metal structures, industrial equipment, furniture, wholesale consignments of goods).
- Price: The most profitable. Cargo can be sent both by full container (FCL) and by consolidated cargo (LCL – when you pay only for the space occupied by your goods, from 20–30 kg or 1 $m^3$).
-
Rail/Road delivery
- Terms: 30–45 days.
- Who is suitable for: The “golden mean” between sea and air in terms of speed and cost for medium-sized consignments of goods.
- Terms: 30–45 days.
2. Work formats: Parcels vs Commercial cargo
For personal purchases and small dropshipping (Parcels)
If you order goods from Chinese marketplaces (Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Pinduoduo):
- You register on the website of a forwarding company (for example, Meest China, EasyXpress, Fastway, etc.) and receive a virtual address of their warehouse in China (usually in Guangzhou or Yiwu).
- You order the goods to this address.
- At the company’s warehouse, your purchases can be consolidated (combined into one), checked for defects, or a photo report can be made.
- The company takes the parcel to Ukraine, where you pick it up at Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, or Meest.
⚠️ Customs limit for individuals: In Ukraine, there is a limit of 150 euros per parcel. If the value of the goods in the parcel is higher, customs duty (10%) and VAT (20%) are charged on the excess amount.
For business (Commercial cargo from 20-50 kg)
If you need regular delivery of equipment, raw materials or large batches of products, logistics operators (e.g. M3Cargo, UTEC Logistics, Fialan, DiFFreight and others) offer turnkey services:
- Freight and logistics: Pick-up of cargo from the supplier’s factory (FOB/EXW).
- Customs clearance (Customs clearance): Full support, preparation of certificates, official closing of export documents in China and registration of imports in Ukraine with provision of documents for the accounting department of the LLC or FOP.
- Quality control: Factory inspection, container loading inspection.
