Delivery from America

Delivery of goods, parcels or commercial cargo from America (USA) to Ukraine works according to clearly established schemes through forwarding companies and logistics operators. The delivery method is chosen depending on the budget and urgency.

✈️ Delivery methods and deadlines

The main logistics routes are divided into air and sea:

  • Air delivery (Fast):

    • Delivery time: 4 to 14 business days from the time of shipment from the US warehouse.

    • Price: In the mid-range around $7.00 – $10.00 per kilogram (or from $3.29 per pound).

    • Best for: Gadgets, clothing, urgent packages and light cargo.
  • Sea Shipping (Economic):

    • Lead time: 4 to 6 weeks (28–45 days).

    • Price: Around $4.50 – $6.50 per kilogram (or from $1.39 per pound).

    • Best for: Heavy and bulky items, furniture, spare parts, tools or large consignments.

🏢 Popular services (mail forwarders)

If you order goods from American online stores (Amazon, eBay, 6pm, etc.) that do not ship directly to Ukraine, use the following purchase and delivery services:

  1. NP Shopping (Nova Poshta): provides a virtual address in the USA. Delivery in Ukraine is carried out to a branch, post office or by courier.

  2. Meest Shopping (or Meest USA): one of the oldest delivery operators from the States. Has flexible rates for both parcels and oversized cargo.

  3. Ukraine Express: specializes in the delivery of equipment, clothing and groupage cargo. Often offers good conditions for commercial consignments or specific categories of goods.

  4. EasyXpress / USAinUA: services that help not only deliver, but also redeem goods if the American store does not accept Ukrainian bank cards.

How does it work?

You register on the carrier company’s website ➔ You receive the address of their warehouse in a tax-free US state (for example, Delaware or New Jersey) ➔ You order the goods in the store to this address ➔ In the carrier’s account, you register the track number and indicate your address in Ukraine.

🛃 Customs rules and limits in Ukraine

Customs clearance is the most important stage that directly affects the final cost:

  • Duty-free limit: If the value of goods in one parcel (per recipient in one dispatch) does not exceed 150 euros, no taxes need to be paid.
  • If the value is more than 150 euros: 10% duty and 20% VAT of the excess amount together with duty are charged on the excess amount.
  • Example: If the goods cost 200 euros, tax is calculated only on the “excess” 50 euros (10% duty = 5 euros; 20% VAT on 55 euros = 11 euros; total to be paid ~16 euros).

🚫 What is prohibited from sending?

Airlines and customs have strict restrictions. You cannot ship the following by plane:

  • Batteries and power banks (separate from devices).

  • Pressurized cylinders, perfumes, alcohol-containing liquids, deodorants.

  • Weapons, their parts (even optical sights or accessories), tactical equipment for a specific purpose.

  • Perishable products.

Many of these restrictions (for example, regarding liquids or batteries) can be circumvented by choosing sea shipping, as the rules for sea containers are more lenient.
